Making better use of ultrabeat

It’s taking a lot of trial and error, but I’m starting to create something that works out of Ultrabeat.

I’ve been recording a bunch of sounds. Short breath attacks, two or three note phrases, a couple long notes, clicks using the lock, and even banging (lightly) on the bell. I’ve also used some samples that Gerry Pagano recorded while putting together Roads Less Traveled. Basically, I’ve got an entire sample library of my good friend Gerry. I’m using very short snippets of his already short notes.

Don’t worry Gerry, I’ll come up with some things you’ll need to record.

It’s amazing the variety of sounds that can come out of a trombone. Put them in the right place and you can make a cool rhythm.

Here’s a short sample of the start of the tune: https://www.altobone.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Trombone-Ultrabeat-sample.mp3
